Postpartum Planning Session

Why Prepare?

Some things we can plan for. Others we can’t. Taking time to plan and prepare for life after your baby’s birth can make an incredible difference to you and your family both practically and emotionally.

The days and weeks after a baby is born is a time for love, bonding and recovery - for the family and in particular the mother. It is a time for you and your baby to get to know each other. And you? It is a time for you to be held, supported and nourished after birthing your baby.

You can have all the baby items, all the clothes and “stuff” social media tells us we need.
And when your baby comes, they mainly need you, and you mainly need to be looked after.

So lets plan for that.

Practical Stuff

We discuss the the things that make the day to day differences such as

- Your support network

- Your birth partner’s role

- The importance of REST

Other Stuff

We also explore other areas such as

- Cultural rituals, wishes or expectations

- Plans for your placenta

- What your recovery may be like

- How you might feel
